Spring Break So Far

On Wednesday I went night skiing on Mt. Seymour. It had perfect weather conditions. No fog, no wind, no snow/hail/rain, lots of sun and not terribly cold.  That was probably the best skiing ever. ^^ Did a few jumps/grinds and got about half a metre of air.  It was a little scary but I managed to land and not screw up. It got dark around 7:00 and all the lights turned on. It would have been such a photo moment, but I forgot my camera. ;~; It was all good coming home until I dropped my half pound ski boot on a large bag of chips. Sorrowful moment…

On Thursday I derped in Vancouver. Not really doing anything in particular, but just walking around, getting food, English Bay, etc. For dinner there was the Cloud 9 restaurant. It’s this 42 level tower that revolves around and makes your ears pop at the top. Afterwards, I brought my dog out and she seemed to like the big city. The only bad thing was she rolled around in the sand and shook it everywhere.

Spring break needs to be longer… XD

EA Games Footage

I just finished getting a privilege to upload videos over fifteen minutes on YouTube.  The footage should be up soon, if my current internet connection is fine.  It won’t be fast… the video is 2.5GB in 1080P HD.

Smartphones more accurate, faster, cheaper for disease surveillance | KurzweilAI → kurzweilai.net

smarterplanet:

Smartphones are showing promise in disease surveillance in the developing world.

Smartphone use was cheaper than traditional paper survey methods to gather disease information (after the initial set-up cost), researchers at the Kenya Ministry of Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, found in a study.

Survey data collected with smartphones also had fewer errors and were more quickly available for analyses than data collected on paper.

Spring Break!

Spring Break almost here.  I’ve waited a long time for it.  My dad is flying to Miami, FL for a week-long meeting while I get to stay home… yay.  I don’t expect to do too much during the time off.  I’ll mostly be drawing whatever I feel like with my tablet and writing C++ for no reason.  FWA is this weekend, which would be a spectacular way to start vacation, however, I’m not going.  >.>

This is the last week, and I have many projects/tests.  I’m also going to EA Games’ Burnaby headquarters with the Media Arts 11/12 class tomorrow.  That should be interesting! :D I’ll put photos on here if not on SkyDrive the following day.
